MEA has played a significant role in supporting Kestrel Coal’s Coal Wash Plant process, particularly in the maintenance and improvement of their rotary coal bath separator. The rotary coal bath separator is a crucial component in the coal washing process, used to separate coal from impurities based on density, ensuring a cleaner, more efficient product.

Our involvement has centred around the refurbishment of critical components such as the trunnion roller assemblies and the separator shaft, ensuring these parts remain in optimal condition to handle the stresses of continuous operation. Over time, we’ve worked closely with Kestrel Coal to advance the strength and durability of the bath tire rings, a key component in the separator’s performance.

To achieve the desired strength and precision, MEA now incorporates metal forging in the production of bath tire rings, followed by thermal stress relieving to enhance material properties. Final machining ensures that each part meets the required specifications, contributing to a more reliable and longer-lasting separator. MEA’s ongoing improvements and technical expertise have helped Kestrel Coal maintain and enhance the efficiency of their coal wash plant operations.
